"Work done: Move gas line, demolition, electrical, window installation, installation of fans and vents, installation of lights, drywall, and much more.
We moved into our house and were over our heads with remodeling work. We had a long list of projects that we needed to take on in a short period of time. We were completely overwhelmed. We got a lot of quotes and found it very difficult to get a fair bid. Then we met Pete. He was a breath of fresh air -- professional, knowledgeable, and sincerely interested in helping us out. Pete and his crew started right away and did an excellent job. Pete's quotes were exceedingly fair and he stuck to the budget. He also gave us excellent advice about which projects we should take on now and which ones we should save for latter. It is rare in life to meet a complete stranger , and quickly feel like he is a trusted friend. We truly felt like Pete had our best interests at heart. We feel so fortunate to have met him! He is honest to the core and takes great pride in helping his clients. "

"Pete and his crew gutted our kitchen and bathroom. Designed new kitchen layout, moved sink and gas stove location, installed new drywall, electrical, recessed lights in kitchen and living room, new counter tops, new plumbing to gorgeous apron sink with disposal, tile floors, subway tile backsplash in kitchen, subway tile in bathtub surround, new windows installed in kitchen and bathroom, new bathtub installed, new cabinets, installed appliances, and pendant lights, expanded the entry to the kitchen, and added support to a structural beam that spanned that entryway.
It went fantastic! We bonded with Pete immediately. He is such a great guy and genuinely cares about his work and his client's happiness. We have a 1945 cape cod style home that had a very outdated and oddly shaped kitchen, and a bathroom with rotting drywall and a full size window in the shower (God knows why). Pete gave us the bid for labor only and gave us an estimate on material costs. We worked it out to be exactly to our budget. We liked paying for materials separately because it allowed us to control costs and not pay any mark-up a contractor may have added. Once we accepted Pete's bid he and his guys were able to start within 10 days or so. Project Start: Like most projects, the demo went quickly. His guys were extremely clean and took great care to make sure dust was contained within the confines of the kitchen and bathroom. They put up plastic sheets and had an industrial air purifier to help with the dust. They had a large trailer in the driveway to haul away all the debris (which there was plenty of). Middle of Project: During the project the work went smoothly and Pete communicated well at each phase. As with all projects like this you find a few surprises. For us these were minimal and Pete was always willing to ensure what needed to be done was taken care of the right way. As we were discussing ways to make the kitchen as efficient and spacious as possible, we decided to expand the entryway to be wider than it was originally. During this process Pete found that the beam spanning the boundary between the kitchen and living room would need some additional support to ensure it was safe. Many contractors would have simply glossed over this and done what was cheap and easy. Pete does it the right way, even if it slows down the project. End of Project: Wow! What an amazing new kitchen and bathroom we have. We are so thrilled with the space Pete created for us. Almost 1 year after the job was completed we couldn't be happier with our kitchen. It is beautiful! And the scrap pile on the patio was cleaned up so well you couldn't even tell it was ever there. We LOVE the remodel! It's not often people hug their contractor, but both my wife and I gave Pete a hearty hug at the end of this project. We will definitely call Pete for our next project!"

"Pete's Construction completed a remodel of the main floor of my house and it looks absolutely AWESOME - friends and family can't believe the transformation. And the price was incredibly less than some of the other bids I received. The remodel involved complete renovation of the kitchen to include removal of a load bearing wall to open up the kitchen to the rest of the house, along with installation of new cherry wood cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and accessories. Pete reconfigured the remainder of the main floor converting it from a chopped-up floor plan to spaces that flow, are functional and open up to a huge family room with a great view! Pete's crew was efficient at installation of everything from plumbing to electrical, as well as installation of new windows, doors, hardwood floors, etc.
Pete and his crew were courteous and great to work with - actually FUN to work with. They are very adept at their skill, work very efficiently and clean up after themselves at the end of every day - plus, they were always prompt and at work when they said they were going to be. What I really enjoyed about working with Pete was the ability to bat ideas back and forth, drawing from his experience to blend with my preferences, so that I felt comfortable with any decisions. I also appreciated Pete's honesty and he did not "nickel and dime" me on the small stuff or when something needed minor tweaking - I can't begin to list all of the little things they did on their own just to make sure things were right - the pride in their work product was obvious. Pete was even able to comprehend some of my likes/dislikes and sometimes already had his guys making changes even before I had a chance to discuss it with him. A good example of this was when I had to leave town for a week due to a family emergency - I felt totally comfortable having Pete and his crew continue in my absence, trusting Pete to make the right decision on any issues, but yet knowing he would contact me if he wasn't sure, as needed.
Having remodeled several houses, finding a contractor who understands the importance of communication was critical to me and Pete definitely believes in communication with the customer. I couldn't have asked for a better contractor and couldn't be happier with the results. I have already highly recommended him to several people considering remodeling jobs and will definitely use Pete for any of my construction needs in the future."

"This was a complete interior remodel of a 1978 tri-level home (2300 sq ft) including:

  • removal of the popcorn ceiling throughout the house (Pete had it tested for asbestos ahead of time)
  • complete kitchen remodel including raising the ceiling, new cabinets, granite counter top, tile back splash, adding an island, pendant and canister lighting
  • installed gas line for new gas stove and above-stove microwave with new venting
  • opened up the main level by removing one wall and making a half wall between kitchen and living room
  • removed old brick fireplace, replacing with slate tiles and hand crafted mantel
  • former master bedroom had a vanity area that was open to the bedroom; attached to that was a small room with a small shower and toilet; Pete designed and built a bathroom with a large beautifully tiled walk-in shower (2 shower heads); required major replumbing; also framed and finished a walk-in closet;
  • remodeled 2nd floor bathroom, replacing old tile and plumbing fixtures, raised the ceiling, new vanity and lighting
  • remodeled laundry room and 1/2 bath in lower level, adding a tiled shower to bathroom and closet to laundry room; shower required major plumbing work given floor is concrete
  • beautiful hardwood floors being installed in about half the house and carpet in other half; tile floors in the 3 bathrooms
  • installed new windows throughout
  • new lighting throughout - canister and ceiling lights
  • installed new floor molding and 6-panel doors throughout house
  • painting entire interior of house

We have found Pete to not only be a great person to work with, but a great person in general. He is pleasant, always smiling, has high work standards, and takes pride in his work. He truly wants us to be happy with his work. He provided us with what we believe to be a very reasonable estimate for labor, much better than a bid we received from a larger company who subcontracts much of their work. Pete helps keep costs down by passing on his costs of materials without mark-up. He purchased materials, provided us the receipts and then we reimbursed him. We also wanted to keep our hands in the project so he has no issue with us helping shop for materials (e.g., various tiles, lighting, paints, plumbing fixtures, etc). He also regularly suggests less expensive ways of doing something or provides alternative suggestions to our design ideas to help us save money. We have changed our mind on a few things as the project has progressed and Pete gladly makes the change or redid the work with little or no additional charge. His guys are hard working and skilled, doing most of the work themselves, saving a lot of money on work that might otherwise have to be contracted out. Pete is very responsive - we are calling him regularly, including weekends, and most of the time he picks up immediately; if not, he calls back promptly."

"High-end waterfront entire house interior remodel including custom kitchen, three designer bathrooms, hardwood flooring, adding second kitchen, laundry room and wet bar.
Pete came highly recommended, he always communicated very well and always gave his honest opinion. The quality of the work was outstanding and he was always professional. I feel like I have made a new friend. We started with kitchen remodel and after seeing the outstanding craftsmanship and value we decided to remodel the whole house. Pete's estimate was the lowest and the quality of the work got rave reviews from all my friends many of whom are or have family in architecture and building industry."

"It is with pleasure that we write this letter of recommendation for Pete's Construction. We have been enjoying our new kitchen and bathrooms for a few weeks now... thanking our lucky stars every day for helping us find Pete. Pete and his professional employees have a very high level of integrity. Pete kept his promises no matter what challenges arose. He met his project completion date as well as the estimated cost for the project. He went the extra mile to make us happy. The very first day, in response to our concern for being without a kitchen sink for five weeks, Pete ran to the store and brought a utility sink which we had wanted for a long time, and he installed it in our laundry room that same day. As a result, we were able to comfortably manage during the construction period. Pete and his team had an amazing level of positive attitude no matter the size of our expectations/requests. For example, when we asked if a light switch could be moved to more convenient location, although it wasn't an easy change, they didn't hesitate to take the extra time to do the needed-work to make us happy. Another example: We had dreamed of having a gas stove since we bought our house in 2005. Other contractors didn't want to promise that it would be possible without having us jump through extra hoops, and they were not willing to give us a solid quote for this particular task. Pete, on the other hand, said, "Sure, we can do it." We were skeptical at first; however, their attention to detail was extraordinary. We felt they worked on our home with the same level of care as if they were working on their own home. Overall, we don't think we could have been happier with our remodeling work. We finally have our dream kitchen and two of our three bathrooms are seriously upgraded. We highly recommend Pete's Construction to anyone considering remodeling their home."

"Kitchen Cabinet Installation - multiple-tiered cabinets. Granite Countertop Installation. Remodeling (bathroom and hallway) (in process - he's waiting for me!).(note: the project cost above was for kitchen remodeling labor only.)
Pete's Construction did a BEAUTIFUL job on my kitchen installation! Not only did he do a fantastic job, he was a pleasure to work with. Having worked with other contractors on my condo, I value his EXCELLENT communication. I already had the plan for all the cabinets; he came in and walked through the details of it, inch-by-inch. Guess what-my plan would not have worked...YET, he was patient, respectful, helpful, and detailed. During the process, his crew came ON TIME EVERY TIME, were respectful of me and my family, CLEANED UP, were cheerful about MODIFICATIONS I requested, and I am delighted. Granite countertops-I wanted to choose the product by hand, and Pete met me at the countertop wholesalers in town. 3 TIMES! (Tough to get 3 matching pieces my size). His subcontractor came twice to measure and install, both with Pete's oversight. Beautiful. Bathroom remodel beginning now. Demolition was fantastic and CLEAN. A great start, and wouldn't want to hire anyone else."

"Pete's company fully remodeled our master bathroom. They gutted it and brought it back to life. The project included a new custom shower pan and full tiling with a pebble floor and 3-D glass accent. They also put in a new toilet, heated tile floor throughout, sinks and cabinets. They installed a custom cabinet and window seat area.
Pete is a wonderful man who has great workers working for him. They were all very easy to have in the house and around my children. Pete is extremely conscientious and truly cares about the clients and the finished product. I absolutely LOVE my bathroom. There isn't one thing I would have done differently."

"Pete remodeled my kitchen, put a new mantle over my fireplace and baseboard heating in the living room and the bed room. He also put in some new lights, countertops (granite) and a new floor. He also knocked out the false ceiling and a nice new paint job. He did some electrical work as well which included some new outlets. Pete also put in a new stove hood!
He did a great job, I would highly recommend him! Pete is a wonderful person that is extremely easy to work with, he is very outgoing and punctual! I would certainty use him again. The clean up was amazing as well."

"I am a real estate investor and frequent loyal customer of Pete's Construction. In what would normally take a month of back and forth, I can accomplish with Pete in one meeting. I can show Pete my issues with a property, he will give me advice on how to get the best value. Other contractors will just try to upsell me or stay silent when there is a more cost effective option. Pete will offer that info every time. Pete's work looks great when the project is done and holds up over time.
I have never had an issue with price escalations or surprises. What Pete quotes is what I end up paying.
Using Pete for over a year, I am very satisfied with each of the projects and continue to return again and again. I don't have time to manage a construction process. I want it done on time and with high quality the first time. That is what Pete's Construction delivers consistently."

"Complete redo of the only full bath on the main floor. He took it down to the studs, pushed out a wall, installed a shower, and moved a window. Since we were going to be going to be working with the wall against the main staircase, I also had him add in stair lights.
Pete and his team (Fernando) did an amazing job. This was my first remodel, and I was a bit nervous about taking all this on, even having gone so far as to invest in an architect to draw out the plans (turns out this wasn't necessary, as Pete has a great eye, and helps the home owner with all these decisions). Pete deeply cares about the contractor/homeowner relationship, so trust plays a big role in the success of the project. For instance, Pete quotes you a price and he sticks to this, regardless of what he uncovers during the process of the renovation (he had to reroute my plumbing, and upon opening up the floor, found the previous homeowner's redo of the plumbing was a complete mess. Even though it took a few more days than anticipated, he never quibbled on the originally set price). Trust on the homeowner side comes in when you sign a very basic contract. Don't expect a big legal document, etc - that isn't Pete's style. We worked out the details over the phone if not in person. He and his team are very professional and were quite conscientious about cleaning up and removing tarps at the end of each day. Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience, and I'm already thinking about my next project with Pete and his team."

"The job consisted of completely gutting my small kitchen and replacing everything (flooring, cabinets, counter-tops, sink, appliances, and lighting. In one bathroom I needed a new vanity, lighting, and fresh paint. The other needed a new shower and fresh paint.
I needed to update my kitchen and bathrooms on a budget. I started with 8 or so contractors. 4 got back to me with interest in the project. Of these €ÿtwo gave me bids that were significantly higher than Pete's. All of them took longer than Pete to put together their bid and generally think things over. Pete gave me the initial estimate on the spot. Between the two similarly priced bids Pete's bid gave me more flexibility to choose materials to better fit my budget. The other one locked me into some higher priced materials. I knew I could find better deals. This ended up saving me a couple thousand dollars. I am sure the other contractors would have likely done a fine job. But, they kept trying to upsell me into my dream house. Pete did a good job actually listening to what I wanted and why.
Pete went above and beyond to find me deals and do the little things like replacing by base boards in the bathrooms, a larger slab of granite, and other odds and ends even though they were not in the quote. I could always reach him when I needed to. The whole project took two weeks and they never left to run off to another project. Pete had a large selection of stock cabinet and granite options. If I needed something custom (I did not) that would not have been a problem either.
The big worry with construction projects like this is that you will get a good bid and then get nickle and dimed when something goes wrong or any small change is made. It is quite the opposite with Pete. He helped me to save money as the project went along and added extras at no charge.
Pete and his employees are completely trustworthy. I would use them again without a doubt.
I was looking for high quality and a great value for my money. Pete delivered on both fronts."

"We were planning on doing a complete overhaul of the kitchen, including cabinets, island, hardwood floor, granite, tile backsplash, move cooktop from island to the wall and set up new ventilation through the pantry.
We contacted 4 contractors plus Homedepot and Costco. Among all, all things equal, Pete gave us the best quote. He was great to talk to. He made us feel he's on our side, sincerely cares about the final result of the project as well as saving money when we should. We ended up not going forward with the project because eventually what Pete told us upfront was correct. He told us that we should not waste money tearing down the current kitchen. It looks great as it is and no need to change, unless we insist. We did insist, and he gave us a ballpark quote on the spot. We also contacted others. All were great to work with and very professional. Still, for the same list of work items, Pete has the best price. Others are anywhere between slightly more expensive to absolutely insane.
After taking appliances cost into consideration, another $20K, we have decided to put aside the kitchen project and start thinking about bedroom and bathroom. Pete is the very first person on our to-call list."

"I would recommend Pete to anyone doing work in their home. We talked to five contractors and chose Pete. His prices and his overall genuine drive to do a good job and do the right thing were how we decided. We're very glad with our decision.
We took down two walls to open up our kitchen (1950s house) to the living room and dining room, had all new appliances and new electrical, water lines (for fridge), and gas brought into the kitchen. Overall, Pete's staff did a fabulous job. Pete helped us along the way do the design, and he has a lot of great tips to offer while still letting you make your own decisions. The cabinets and granite selection is also great. We are very happy with our selection and love our kitchen more every day.
Pete was very flexible with our schedules too, e.g. if we needed a certain thing addressed before we went out of town, moved in, had a party, etc. His guys worked very quickly too, very impressive! My fiance and I were very new to this kind of project, and if we were to do it over again, we would have made sure to have bought all the appliances ahead of time and all the other things that ended up taking time to order (e.g. cabinet handles/knobs, lighting). We ended up having to wait on some of our stuff to arrive. Also, another tip is that we bought most of our appliances through best buy. They pricematch and carry almost everything online, and if you buy a TV, you can finance the purchase for 3yrs no interest. (They also should be getting in high-end appliances some time in 2013. We did buy Wolf & hood from albert lee.)
The hardest thing about the kitchen was all the decisions you have to make. Pete is so great to work with that he made things as easy as possible really.
Regarding cost - Pete was very true to his numbers too. We didn't have any surprises from him. (Just don't forget you may have appliances or other accessories to budget for.)
We'll be working with pete for other projects at our house as we update more things. Thanks, pete!! You're awesome."

"I interviewed several contractors, and Pete had the best ideas and suggestions for the project. He saw possibilities I had not imagined and made me feel very comfortable that the job would be done right. Throughout the project he was open to all the ideas I had. Some we incorporated others we did not and every time I was happy I followed his advice. His team was always on time without exception and were always professional and courteous. The job was done on time and on budget and there was even a refund check I was given because some materials "didn't cost as much as estimated" The bathroom turned out great and Pete exceeded my expectations, he was always available via cell phone and was very patient with my questions and accommodated a change to the schedule which became necessary on my part. I have built five houses and done numerous remodels this has been by far my best experience and I would recommend Pete to anyone without reservation."

"Pete gave me a very reasonable bid on a kitchen project but I decided to work on it myself instead. Meanwhile, he saw my brick siding and told me he had some identical material at his house if I needed more. Since it was somewhat rare and I was planning additional exterior work, this was quite a find. I offered to pay him something but he wouldn't take it and gave it to me for free. Pete is a great guy, very friendly, and It seems that he is dedicated to making his customers happy w/ high integrity. I would use him on a future project, and recommend you talk to him for your project."

"Pete is so wonderful! He comes when he says he is going to come. He is very responsive to phone calls. He knows what he is doing. He has good people working for him who are very punctual and hard working. Pete is very good about stopping by several times a week to make sure that the work is going well and to answer any questions I had. He is honest and up front about everything. The workers were good about cleaning up at the end of the day. Everyone is aiming to please. I am very pleased with the way everything turned out. I feel fortunate that I found Pete and he was able to fit me in to his busy schedule."

"We had just purchased a house that needed extensive work done before moving in and we had a timeline to deal with. After discussing my wish list and must haves, he was able to help us budget, plan and rethink our project to stretch our dollar. He took the time to understand my family's needs, prioritize, and plan timing. Throughout the stressful times of the project, he went beyond expectations to make things happen, moved his team of workers as needed to meet timelines and he often said he tries to think like the homeowner when it comes to decision making and costs. His crew is trustworthy, takes care of details, and great to work with. We ended up having to move our move in date and he miraculously managed to have the house ready. With the first phase of our remodel done, Pete's returning to help us with the next phase of our project. Thank you, Pete. Couldn't do this without you."

"Our first impression of Pete was his friendly personality and great sense of humor. After meeting with him for the initial estimate, my wife and I decided to go with him and not to interview any other contractors. With all the good reviews, we knew he had the professional skills we were looking for, and his friendly personality would make it that much easier to work with him to get our 5-piece master bathroom redone. It turns out picking him was the right decision to get our dream bathroom.
His crew was punctual, courteous and skillful. Each day, they arrived around 9:30 am and left around 6 pm after cleaning up. Every day they made great progress. Overall, the project took a longer time than I had expected, but they carefully followed the floorplan we generated in detail and executed everything perfectly. There was no part that they had misunderstanding or doing something that needed to be redone. To me, if they can get everything right the first time and there is no need for redos, then taking a little more time to be careful is definitely understandable.
One thing that concerns me was when we were doing the estimate, we didn't discuss the possible cost for materials like pipes, 2x4s, switch boxes, etc. We went over the labor cost and other project costs like tiles, sink, tub, all the big pieces. However, when he bought all other materials (pipes, 2x4s...), we were surprised by the cost (10% of the overall cost). Since he only charged us for labor, we understood that we would cover those materials, but for the additional 10% of the cost, it was definitely not something that we had budgeted for. Originally, I thought I would put this as a negative thing in the review, but when the project was done, this actually became a positive thing of Pete's work. Why? For other contractors, they include all the materials in the estimate/cost, which means the less/cheaper materials they buy, the higher their profit will be. But Pete buys things that he thinks are necessary to get the work done properly, and he doesn't cut corners. So in a way, he has nothing to hold him back from buy anything necessary for good work that will hold up his good reputation.
In addition to validating his professional skill, the part that moves me the most was his personality. A big part of getting the bathroom redone was that we wanted to get the bathroom updated so when our first child arrived, we wouldn't have to do any more construction in the house. Pete was able to start our project a lot sooner than when we had first talked about, but it was really close to our due date. So when the project lasted a little longer (over the holiday season), I was under a lot of stress. When I talked to Pete about the time concern, not only did he not take it negatively, he comforted us and sent extra crew members the next day to expedite the project. He said he doesn't usually do this (moving guys from one project to work on another project), but he knew timing was critical to us and he wanted to help. I never believed that a contractor could care about a client's personal life, but he went well above and beyond the project scope and offered his kind personality. The project finished soon after, and we still had a few weeks to get ready to welcome our first child. So a big THANK YOU to him.
At the end, looking at the stunning end-product that Pete's crew created, we cannot be any happier. Not only does this bathroom add significant value to our home (which we are most likely to get back when selling our house), but we now enjoy it every day we use it. Thanks very much, Pete and your fantastic crew, and a big YES I'd recommend Pete's construction to anyone."

"They did the whole new house make over. He fixed our kitchen and bathroom. He added a new bathroom, did the flooring, plumbing and the painting.
It was awesome, it went great. It was a really excellent, pleasant experience. The owner, Pete, was great and had a great attention to detail. It was really, really wonderful to work with him. I'm very happy with how it turned out. He has great customer service. After the renovation was over he still came back and fixed a few more things. I highly recommend this company to anyone."

"After purchasing a 1927 built brick tudor in West Seattle i wanted to have the kitchen & living room remodeled into a large kitchen and remodel the upstairs / masterbathroom Kitchen renovation included removing of exisitng small kitchen, removing lath & plaster walls & ceiling, removing of dividing wall of kitchen dinning room, expanding arched entryway to kitchen/dining, build-up of all these areas and replacement of glass slider with french doors. The bathroom remodel included teardown and expansion of the bathroom. Building of large titled shower and replacement of windows
I am extremely happy with the work that was performed. Pete and I met to review options and he was prompt in responding with a bid. I like the way that pete works as he doesn't charge for materials or have to put markup on materials as you purchase those yourself... for some this many be fun - but since i knew what I wanted in the kitchen and the bath this worked very well for me and saved me money. I love my kitchen and the bathroom! I liked working with Pete and he is responsive and involved. I look forward to working with Pete again on my next project."

"our experience with the owner, pete, was great. he was professional and he is a professional. it is obvious he really knows what he is talking about. there is no area of contracting that he doesnt know inside and out. pete also speaks several languages and easily communicated with his guys (who were fantastic). it was so nice to able to deal directly with the owner as opposed to have to deal with a lot of middle men or managers who then communicated with the workers. pete was on site frequently and really watched over the project. we initially wanted his company to do our kitchen remodel, but we also asked him to put up lighting for us. done. we needed new electric wiring put in to accomdate for our new speed oven. done. requests for different styles and colors for our cabinets, done. there was never a call made that was not returned. pete even guided me with some home improvement projects I was working on and was very helpful in teaching me some basic home maintenance. we didnt shop around a whole out but with the bids we did receive, pete's was very competitive. remodel itself was tastefully done and the quality of the work I thought was done very professionally. overall, I highly recommend pete's construction and will be definitely considering them for our master bath remodel in the spring."

"We needed a bathtub and surround that was installed in the 70's replaced. The project was somewhat challenging as the bathroom is narrow and the work had to be done in tight quarters.
Pete and his crew are the best. First and foremost; they showed up on time. Pete was the first contractor I have worked with that was on the job when he said he would. We already had a good idea of what we wanted prior to the first meeting. Pete was willing to work with us and help work out some of the details of the project. Because we knew what we wanted, Pete charged us labor only. Please note; the total cost of the project reflects what we paid for labor and materials. The crew was fast and paid attention to the details. By the end of the first day everything was installed and ready for the finish work the next morning. Unfortunately, the next morning Pete found a very small hairline crack in the finish. We discussed it, I was ready to live with it. But Pete said he would pull it out and take it back to Loews for us. In fact, he insisted. I'm glad he did, it would have been one of those things I would have always seen and regretted that I didn't fix it when I had the chance. I think that is what sets Pete and his crew apart from others; he is willing to go out of his way to make sure the customer is really and truly happy with the work. As I sit here typing this, my daughter is playing the bathtub. I realize we made the right choice in having Pete's Construction install our new tub that will provide many years of good clean fun. Thanks Pete!!!!"

"My house was built in the 60's. The laundry room/half bath had never been updated. The project included gutting the room - down to studs and subfloor. Pete revamped some plumbing, put in new sheetrock, added a shower, cabinets, light fixtures, medicine cabinet, tiled the floor and the adjacent hallway plus replaced/relocated several doors. As with any remodel, there were some unexpected things but they were easily dealt with. Pete was very helpful in some upfront design decisions which made the project go smoothly. Pete bid labor only but gave me a good idea of what materials would cost. Pete's bid was competitive to lower than another bid I received. He promised to be in and out in 3 weeks and he was. I've very pleased with the project - it looks like a new room; not a remodel. Give Pete a call, you'll be happy with the results.
Pete was very responsive the first time I contacted him. He quickly gave me a bid and was able to start the job in about a month. Pete is professional, friendly and delivers on commitments. The project moved quickly and continuously. There were no slowdowns or time lags due to poor planning. The work area was picked up and swept everyday when I got home. Given the nature of the work being done, the crew kept it very clean. Adding a shower to the room had a few challenges, e.g, slightly elevating the shower to ensure proper drainage but Pete figured out a solution which is both functional and attractive. I've had a lot of remodeling done and Pete's work was far superior to what I experienced with others."

"I contacted 4 contractors in April to get bids on this job. Only 2 returned my phone calls. Pete called back within a few hours to schedule a look. After we accepted his bid we were put into his queue. We chose Pete based on reviews that were overwhelmingly positive, even though he did not have the lowest bid. We decided that he was the contractor we wanted to work with, and he took our job, even though he said it was smaller than the jobs that he normally did.
The work was done in early August. Pete was very responsive to my questions and calls. Pete's crew did a professional job removing the old tub and surround, and installing the new one, and always cleaned up after each day's work.
I was told years ago by a contractor friend that remodeling always costs 1/3rd more than originally expected and takes about 1/3rd longer than expected. I think that Pete's bids are higher because he sticks with them and has figured out what a job will actually cost (barring unforeseen problems).
When there were any questions about something I was consulted. Pete was very aware that this was our only shower, and worked to get the job done quickly.
The only caveat I would give about Pete's Construction, is that the bids do not include materials (which he is very up-front about). He expects customers to buy and supply the major items for a job. This works well for many people, but was a little hard for me. We are happy with the job done, and would hire Pete's Construction again."

"I contacted Pete to install granite counter tops in my kitchen. He was wonderful in every way; making helpful suggestions and going well beyond expectations in terms of the work he did, the timing of his work, the professionalism of both he and his workers. I was especially impressed with his honesty and integrity and would highly recommend him.
Pete came to my home at the appointed time, he measured my counter tops, showed me many samples of granite from which I could choose, and made helpful suggestions. We scheduled a date for his workers to remove the formica tops and another day for his men to install the granite. They did an excellent job, were very tidy and completed the work in a timely manner, just as Pete had promised."

"When we first called Pete, we were over our heads trying to manage all the details of remodeling our kitchen. Pete's friendliness and confidence immediately put our fears to rest by assuring us that he could handle anything that was needed. Every small complication that arose (as they do with older houses) was quickly and expertly handled by Pete and his crew - from building the base for the new countertops, to moving outlets and switches, to fixing wall surfaces, to venting exhausts. Pete was very respectful of our needs and wishes, as well as he added his helpful suggestions. Pete made the whole job worry-free, affordable and easy. The work was accomplished quickly and expertly, with a minimum of disruption. His crew completely cleaned up after finishing, right down to hand-polishing the beautiful new countertops they installed. Pete called a couple days later to make sure we were completely satisfied with the work. We have done a number of remodeling projects over the 28 years we've owned our home, and we have never had any part of it go as smoothly as with Pete, nor have we ever been as pleased with the results. His honesty and integrity are excellent."

"Needed my carport to be enclosed. Pete came to my home on time and provide a quote which was fair. He explained when his crew would come - they were on time. Pete on went to explain the duration of the project - they finished early. They had to pore concrete, enclose my carport, framing and work with another contractor for my garage installation. Please know the garage installer was very impressed with the detail to the framing for the garage door AND Pete was on hand should the garage installer need anything in addition to what was already completed. Pete's team then did EXCELLENT detailed work. I wanted my new garage siding to look exactly like my original cedar plank siding. Since this material is no longer easily and affordable found Pete was able to come up with a solution that looked very close to the original work and now my home looks amazing. I love driving up to it and seeing the porch lights on. I feel like I live in a mini mansion. Overall quote, work, willing to explain process, clean up and on time work schedule was above and beyond what I expected. Pete himself is a delight to work with. Thank you! D.-"

"Pete and his crew tore out the old kitchen, appliances and lighting. They put in two skylights and new lighting. They put in new cabinets and a granite counter top. After we painted, they stripped the dark color off the existing oak floors and resealed them in an environmentally friendly varnish-- or sealant. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen and family room.
From the minute I spoke to Pete on the phone, I felt he was going to be the one we went with. He was personable, outgoing, and knowledgeable, He came and gave us an estimate, which was lower than two other bids we had come in. I had wanted to raise the existing level of the kitchen ceiling to match the adjacent family room, Pete said no problem, to do it, but actually it couldn't be done on our budget, so we went with just installing skylights, which look great. But I would have liked to know that before we started (not that it would have changed my mind). Anyway, Pete was able to take us on short notice and fit us in, which we appreciated! We wanted Pete to transform our 70's style kitchen into a light modern room. Pete listened well to our ideas and was able to put what was in my head into the room! It looks amazing. I love my island! The granite countertops are spectacular-- although I thought they were sealed when they were put on, and they weren't, so I had to do that myself. Pete kept us under budget for the cupboards and countertops so that we were able to redo the existing flooring. We had constant contact with Pete, even though we weren't on site every day. His crew were respectful, and did a great job minimizing the impact on the rest of the house. The cabinets and countertops are fantastic. Stripping the floor, and resealing it in a natural color really makes to room pop! I would recommend Pete to anyone wanting a quality job done, within budget."

"I contacted Pete's Construction late on a Saturday night. Pete himself called me the next day. He was very professional and interested in the job I had to do. We had a nice conversation on the phone and he offered his expertise and help. I feel like I have a friend I can contact for help on making improvements to my first home! Thank you Pete!"

"For as long as I am living or for as long as Pete is working I will be using him for any and all work in the future.
I have never had a more pleasurable experience as I have had with him and his crew. He came in below budget and did a beautiful job on our kitchen remodel, I would highly recommend his company and his services!! The bathrooms are next, can't wait!!
Crew was timely, work progress was steady, they removed the whole kitchen and replaced flooring, granite counter, cabinets, trim, sink, faucet, then painted. Plus they added lighting, and upgraded to all GFI outlets. I am still agog at the sight of our new kitchen."

"We had a meeting with Pete to discuss adding a second floor to our home. He was very creative in thinking through our particular problems, and limitations of our current house. He spent a lot of time with us, and was quite frank about the costs, and work involved. We finally decided , after several other consultations, not to go ahead with the project right now. But we would certainly contact Pete again if we decide to build."

"Pete and his team did an amazing master bath full remodel for me. It is truly one of the most amazing master baths I have ever seen and everyone who sees it loves it.
Pete and his team were a joy to have around. I have two young boys and Pete and his team were so sweet with them. My boys were always thrilled when Pete was coming over. I can't wait to have more remodeling done by Pete and his team."

"We are in awe of how Pete and his crew transformed our kitchen. This project was a complete demolition of the old kitchen and starting over. Pete, Fernando and Andy did everything without bringing in subcontractors, and all in less than seven weeks! We knew every day who would be in our home and the progress of the project. They did electrical, plumbing, gas lines, dry wall, installed three windows, cabinets, granite countertops, flooring, lighting and so much more. Pete was very conscientious about the cost and we were always kept informed about how the money was being spent and cost projections for completion. Pete's 28 years in the business was invaluable. His suggestions were so insightful. His "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" philosophy saved us a lot of money. Thank you Pete!"

"This was updating a condo. A new closet was built, bath and kitchen sinks replaced, plumbing updated, painting and countertops replaced, and light fixtures changed.
Pete was very punctual and worked with my budget. He was easy to get in touch with and a professional to work with. I will work with him again and am very happy to tell others about Pete's work."

"Partial kitchen remodel - new range, undercounter sink, dishwasher, combo microwave and range hood and sink, granite counter top. and backsplash. Our previous range was a drop-in. Pete removed the floor venting and strip of countertop and backsplash in back of drop-in making it possible for us to purchase a less expensive free standing range. He took away old appliances.
Pete was easy to work with - he did not try to talk us into doing more work than we wished as other contractors had. He understood and was supportive when we had to postpone work due to illness. His team arrived when expected and always cleaned up - we were without a sink for only one day. The granite we chose was more expensive than the original estimate, but we came to an agreeable compromise with Pete."

"I had the entire downstairs of my town home redone in Pergo flooring which included the kitchen, bathroom/laundry room, dining room and living room. He also installed new baseboard I had purchased and painted.
Pete came with an outstanding recommendation from a homeowner within my homeowner's association. He pays attention to detail, is professional, honest and friendly. There were no surprises and he did what he said he would do plus a bit extra like putting a bead of caulking on top of the baseboard to give it a cleaner look. He does quality work at a fair price and in the least amount of time. My next big project is to completely redo my kitchen. Pete and his crew will be hired to do the work. I highly recommend him. He has done five flooring projects within my association (all by word of mouth) and everyone was very pleased with his work and professionalism."

"We have used Pete's on several occasions to turn-over and upgrade our apartments. The services including replacing carpeting with laminate, vinyl with tile, drywall work and painting.
Pete gave us clear estimates for the work. Any changes were discussed and agreed upon. Minor misunderstandings were clarified and handled promptly and professionally. The work was done in a timely fashion. The cleanup and any necessary follow-up were done promptly."

"Pete is a miracle worker. We were dealing with a very tight last minute schedule due to another installation. Pete was able to come in on a weekend to start work on a new half wall stair banister, replacing an old metal stair banister. He then came back a few weeks later, within a very narrow time frame of when the work needed to be completed, to finish the job.
The drywall and texture looks better than the original walls in the house. We could not be happier. He and his crew are professional and courteous at all times. Pete went out of his way to help us finish the job within our narrow time frame. Customer service is certainly a forte of Pete's. I felt at all times, his priority was our happiness with his work and our experience with his company. We will definitely use his company again, and recommend him for any remodeling work."

"Laminate flooring installed in living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway, also stairs (to upstairs).
Brilliantly! Pete and his crew did an outstanding job. From the first call and estimate/inspection visit to the finished work everything was done with punctuality (arriving to do the project), professionalism, wonderful and cheery attitude and absolutely, totally beautiful end results = a perfect, glorious new floor! Oh, and Pete always answers his phone, if one happens to have any questions during the planning stage. So delightful - and - unusual now-a-days. You can totally trust Pete. He's a man of his word! I cannot wait to start my next project (all of upstairs flooring done). And then I'll want to have more done in the house, and of course I'm going to call Pete!"

"Pete removed and replaced existing baseboard moldings throughout including closets. His workers did a superb job. The kitchen countertops was replaced and Pete's workers removed carpeting to expose a hardwood floor covered with staples that needed removal by hand.
Pete arrived promptly to give me an estimate and set a date for the project. He and his workers arrived on time and worked until the job was completed. They cleaned up each area as the project moved forward. Pete is courteous, fair, honest and just generally a delight. Though this was a small job, Pete treated it with care and offered me advice on materials and scope of project so that it would not involve significant cost. I plan to use Pete's services in the future and am happy to recommend him."
